Loose Leaf Tea (75gm)

Why it's loved

Birth Ready is for mamas that are looking to level up from just using regular Raspberry Leaf Tea in late pregnancy.

It combines the beloved Raspberry Leaf with other nutritive and uterine tonic herbs to level up birth prep throughout the last 4 weeks of pregnancy.

This blend was developed in 2012 and is still going strong today!

What is it?

The Birth Ready Herbal Tea is a blend of 8 herbs to help nourish the pregnancy and support the body as it prepares for labour.

This blend has been formulated by a Naturopath, Childbirth Educator and Doula with over two decades of working with mamas.

It's designed to be used from 36 weeks onwards. It may also be sipped on during early labour.

75gm Loose Leaf Tea - 60 serves.

What's in it & why?

100% Certified Organic Blend:

Medicago sativa (Alfalfa) Leaf, Rubus idaeus (Raspberry) Leaf, Taraxacum officinalis (Dandelion) Leaf, Urtica dioica (Nettle) Leaf, Leonurus cardiac (Motherwort) Herb, Mitchella repens (Squaw Vine) Herb, Rosa canina (Rosehip) Berry, Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Leaf

Why?

Alfalfa
: A very safe and nutritive herb rich in various minerals, trace elements, chlorophyll and vitamins C, E and K.

Raspberry Leaf: This classic uterine tonic is also known as the 'woman's herb'. It helps tone the uterus in preparation for the work of labour and birth. It has high levels of manganese, moderate levels of iron, calcium, magnesium, selenium, plus the vitamins A, B, C and E. Overall it's a gentle, effective and nutritive herb.

Dandelion Leaf: A gentle and balanced diuretic helping to ease fluid retention, common with late pregnancy. As it's high in potassium it also supports healthy blood pressure. Also rich in folate, B vitamins and calcium.

Nettle: One of the best tonic herbs available. Nutrient-rich including iron, helping to nourish the pregnancy.

Motherwort: Another herb that helps prepare and tone the uterus for labour. Also helps ease lingering pre-labour pains and is supportive to a strung-out nervous system.

Squaw Vine: Has very similar birth prep properties to Raspberry leaf making for a great combo. Also a gentle diuretic helping with any fluid retention.

Rosehip: High in vitamins A, B1, B2, B3 and C which helps the body absorb the iron from the Nettle.

Peppermint: Deliciously refreshing and calming on digestion. Helps with any nausea or tummy woes.

How to use

Suitable from 36 weeks onwards.

For optimal effects drink 3 cups daily from 36 weeks.

May be served warm, cooled or iced. Add honey and/or lemon to taste if desired.

When used as recommended at 3 cups per day from 36 weeks, a 75gm pack will last for approximately 3 weeks.

So if beginning at 36 weeks, one pack will finish at 38+6 days. A second pack followed at 39 weeks will finish at 41+6.

Birth Ready may be sipped on during labour, particularly the prelabour and early labour stages.

As you reach the last weeks of your pregnancy, you may begin to feel the 'cumulative effects' of the labour prep herbs (e.g. Raspberry Leaf and Squaw Vine).

This may result in an increase in Braxton Hicks contractions/tightenings - a great sign!

How does this differ to Raspberry Leaf Tea?

Birth Ready does contains Raspberry Leaf, but alongside other herbs such as Nettle, Dandelion, Squaw Vine and Motherwort for their additional benefits in late pregnancy. This blend provides both nutritional and uterine tonic herbs to level up your readiness for birth!

"I drank 3 cups of Birth Ready from 36 weeks and as well as being delicious, I believe it really helped to tone my uterus and get my body ready for labour.

On my baby's birth day, my contractions were strong and very efficient. Highly recommend this tea!"
